140 Bulgarian holiday makers are to sue UK low cost airline Easyjet for leaving them stranded in Bucharest airport instead of Sofia.
The Easyjet flight from London was expected at Sofia airport on Saturday, but the airline landed the plane in Bucharest saying that Sofia airport had been closed due to bad weather conditions. The airport had not closed and remained open all over the weekend.
Passengers were kept for over 2 hours on the plane and informed the crew were awaiting instruction on flying to Sofia. A few passengers called Sofia airport from their mobile phones onboard the plane and were told it was fully operational.
The 140 passengers finally arrived at Sofia on Monday morning, 2 days after they were scheduled to land. All passengers have said they are looking to recover costs and compensation from the long trip home.
